Take it from Professionals, Stars Shoe Choice.

When celebrities endorse products they don't even enjoy themselves, how are we, the public, supposed to differentiate between the awful and the awesome? Luckily, there are people out there who actually believe in the merchandise they promote.

My case in point: the skateboarding community. When choosing a style or deciding on the proper equipment, isn't it reassuring to know that the experts are wearing the same type of gear when attempting that 360 kick flip? Two of my favorite skateboarders, Rob Dyrdek and Jason Lee, put their money where their mouth is, with their own collections of skater gear. Available to the UK and around the globe, these designs are coming from the best in the industry – in my opinion anyway.

For many people, Jason Lee is the quirky, lovable character from the show My Name is Earl. For skaters, Jason is legendary for his early career as a skateboarding pro. Having his own company, Stereo Sound Agency, Lee's endeavours with Stereo Sound didn't stop him from going further. In 2007, Lee partnered with Vans trainers UK, known for their line of skater/snowboarder footwear, to develop the Vans trainers and Stereo Jet set Collection. The creative juices are flowing, with some of the collection introducing images inspired by Lee's own photos.

Long before Lee hit the streets with his collection, Rob Dyrdek was earning his reputation as a skateboarder. In the industry spotlight, Dyrdek befriended the owners of Droors Clothing, which soon became DC Shoes, famous internationally and throughout the UK. Dyrdek and DC Shoes developed one of the first ever skateboarding shoes tailored for the world of skaters. Harvesting a largely unused market, The Dyrdek1 resulted in success. People found the design innovative and especially needed, with no other company combining skateboarding footwear with athletic support – why had no one thought of this before?

Since then, Dyrdek has gone on to become a popular shoe designer, among other things. His own signature prototypes are widespread, and others like the Blend, the Modus, and the Alias have boosted Dyrdek's reputation – many of which can be seen in skate parks across London.

You can't believe everything you hear, it's true. If a size 0 model is in a commercial for double fudge cake, it probably means that she doesn't indulge often (if at all). But if a professional skater tells you that a certain shoe is best, you might want to listen
